Who doesn’t love a good crackle! And who doesn’t love birds! Hmmm what about birds with crackle…now there’s a thought! This is an easy technique for creating a crackle veneer that can be manipulated into a 3-dimensional shape. In this video tutorial you’ll learn how to create the crackle veneer, the bird body veneer, the bird body core and finally shaping the bird itself. This is a fun class with minimal tools and materials which, when mastered, can be explored in many different ways.

Tools and Materials Required:

  • Pasta machine
  • Tissue blade
  • Acrylic Rod
  • Chalk Pastel
  • Small, soft paintbrush
  • Wet and dry sandpaper (optional)
  • Heat gun or embossing gun
  • Polymer clay – white, black and scrap
