Ahhh it’s Tuesday and I had the house to myself today – I love having the house to myself! 🙂
I had lots of fun things on my to-do list today. First was to create some sample pieces for the Las Vegas Clay Carnival in October later this year. I played around with some veneers (in my fave colours 🙂 ) and was pretty happy with the combination. I used a few of Christi’s new stamps for some of these veneers and they worked beautifully. They have beautiful depth to them and scrummy patterns. These certainly created some of my fave veneers. Here are some pics.
Next on the to-do list was create some Tyvek samples for the mixed media workshop in Melbourne. I loooove this stuff and had forgotten how amazing it is. Tyvekfilm is a non-toxic Tyvek sheet of bonded, spun polyethylene fibres which can be purchased in three different weights. When heated the product changes form, shrinking and bubbling to give a range of interesting surface textures. I decided to play around with some different colouring techniques and found a combination I really love. The samples I created today were all just a play around and will go with me to Melbourne to be used in my mixed media art canvas.
I didn’t get much of a chance to play around with combining polymer clay and Tyvek but that’s on the list for next week when I have more time. I did create one stick with the Tyvek just to see how it would look.
Last thing on the list today was to finish off the BOHO theme mixed media art canvas. I didn’t get a good shot of the entire piece but this will give you an idea.
And that was the end of my Tuesday. Can’t wait for next Tuesday now!
Happy claying everyone.
Love Deb
