Step-Out Photograph Tutorial PDF Polymer Clay Organic Striped Cabochons Plus More

3 PDF’s in total

The inspiration for this tutorial came about from seeing an incredible image of some Lace Agate Cabochons.  This image stopped me in my tracks and actually got me thinking of how I could use it as inspiration for a new body of work.  I have so say, the ideas came quickly and there were lots of them.  I sat in my studio and explored, developed, created, took notes and had an amazing time!

This tutorial is the outcome and I absolutely love it.

Let’s Have a Look to See What’s Included

PDF 1 includes:

Tools and materials list to create canes.

Detailed instructions plus images on how to create 4 different organic striped canes.

PDF 2 contains:

Complete list of tools and materials to create cabochons and beads.

Information on heat transfer foils and how to create a translucent foiled cane.

How to create specialty translucent clay.

Detailed instructions plus images on how to create a range of different cabochons with flat back, with thread hole included in the backing of the piece, with large thread holes in top two corners.

The instructions also show how to incorporate specialty translucent clay and foiled clay canes with your organic striped canes.

How to finish your cabochons neatly.

I’ve also included information on how to create a beautiful bead incorporating the organic striped canes for those who love bead making.

PDF 3 contains:

Tools and materials to create finished pieces.

I’ve included detailed instructions plus images on how to create additional polymer clay components to incorporate into your finished pieces.

Also included in this PDF is detailed instructions on how to create the following:

An artistic wire necklace.

A feather and tassel necklace.

A macrame necklace.

A wired pendant on leather cord.

Not all of these finished pieces will suit your style, however you may be able to take inspiration from them.  Perhaps use your own creativity to come up with something that is relevant to you.

I would suggest this tutorial is great for an advanced beginner meaning you should be able to do the following:

Condition your clay.

Create a basic bullseye cane.

Create a log of clay.

Cure your clay.

Sand your clay.
